SIP Collector Cards

For the information of SIP collectors out there, I have just come into possession of an unopened box of the 1996 SIP Collector Cards series. Series consists of 90 cards, including collectibles: 6 "covers" chromiums, Terry Moore autographed cards, a rare 3-card "miniseries" subset, and an exclusive bonus card.
The box contains 10 cards per pack; 36 count + bonus card.
Any bids for this item should be sent to the email address in my profile, along with the state you are based in ( bidders near Buffalo or in Texas have advantage).

If no one buys these, I'm just going to open em' up and play with them myself!!!! I was really surprised to find the whole unopened box, still in plastic.

Just open the box fer frag sake! You will have a fun time ripping open all those foil packs, sorting the cards and seeing how cool they are. When you are done, you will probably end up with about 2-4 sets, depending on how well the cards were sorted and you will have the option of keeping or selling/trading any chase cards you might get. I opened up a box when they first came out(the guy who runs my store wasn't going to order them unless I promised to buy the whole box), and I got 3 sets, and about 1/2 of the chase cards. I sold the extra sets and almost broke even(along with keeping one set!), but your milage may vary.

I used to play Magic the Gathering, so I KNOW how fun opening an ENTIRE box of trading cards can be(sometimes, 2 or 3.....)

Hiya... As a card collector, I actually bought a box after I got hooked on SIP and lo and behold, what should appear as I opened a pack? One of the 500 autographed Terry Moore cards that was a chase card in the box. Seeing as how I'm in the middle of the ocean and will probably never get to meet Mr. Moore in person, that was probably the next best thing.

Ahhh, you seem to forget that they are actually wax packets!
Akshully, I'm hoping to make a profit on the whole box and go back to the store to buy one set for myself to play with. To a collector, the unopened box is worth more than sorted sets. To a fan, it's a lot more fun to see what I've got, so I'm giving the real collectors a chance to save this item before I make it less collectible
As for Terry, the big mr army man sir liked me, so he's gonna let me borrow him sometime...


It's Buffalo comicon tomorrow, but it won't be any fun cuz Terry ain't there And I wont be here for the next one.
I hope I get to go to one of Terry's showings while I'm in the country.

Living in BC, I doubt I could be much farther from Texas unless I were to become Hawaiidude's neighbour.

How does one "come into" possessing a box of these things, 5 years later?? What do they look like? what was it all about?

Darth, purveyor of all wisdom comic-related, any thoughts? Other than Ebay, I mean? Is this one of those things where I pack up and spend 2 weeks driving through the interior, stopping in every little town, (yes America, there really is a Spuzzum, BC) poking about in dusty old comic shops?

i got the complete set (minus chrome and chaser cards). the art is GREAT. when i get my own place and some actualy cash money, i'm thinking of getting a few of my favorites matted and framed.

Actually this set isn't too hard to find. Most large card dealers probably have sets, and I don't think they go for more than $12-15 or so. The chrome chase cards go for about $5, and the miniseries subset about 7-10 each, and the box topper for maybe 10 at the most.

Sealed boxes only appreciate if the set is rare or sells out quickly, neither of which happened with this set. As to how you would find a box 5 years later, probably the store just ordered too many and had them collecting dust since they came out. Happens all the time.

Don't mean to burst your bubble Katchoo, the valuse of a sealed box isn't particulalry high on the secondary market-that's why I suggested busting the box, cause you might make more selling the indivdidual sets.

Ahhh, my curiosity already got the better of me anyway. Y'know, I was convinced they were wax packets. Oh well, whatever.
I got one full set, three chromiums, 1 chaser, plus the box topper.
Now I just want to get the other chromiums and chasers.
The offer is now changed to: who wants to complete their collection? I have tons of copies, but only one complete set (all to myself), so if anybody needs a certain number, just ask. I probably have it, in multiples. Also, anyone whose willing to trade for the special cards I'm missing, or has extras to offer.
